Because the protection and peace of mind that insurance offers is of utmost
importance to you in your massage therapy practice, we've done our homework to
offer you one of the broadest liability insurance policies around—included

protected if you're named in a lawsuit. Your coverage travels with you wherever
you’re providing massage therapy services that are in accordance with the AMTA's
approved modalities. This is an occurrence policy that protects you regardless
of when a claim is made, as long as your AMTA membership was active at the time
of the covered incident.
Your coverage includes:

Student Members —
You're covered with AMTA’s
Professional Liability Insurance for school-sponsored or
sanctioned activities, up to $2,000,000 per incident and
up to $6,000,000 in aggregate coverage annually. Once
you graduate, we'll provide an extension of insurance
coverage normally reserved for Professional members if
you qualify. And you don't even have to upgrade your
membership and pay more to get it!
You qualify for the extended massage therapist insurance
coverage if you’ve:
-
Graduated from your initial 500 in-class hour
minimum supervised massage therapy training program;
AND
-
Met applicable state or local licensing
requirements.
Please note that for any locale or
state that requires licensure, it’s imperative that
Student members do not practice until their license has
been obtained. Where licensure is required, successful
graduation from a massage therapy training program may
not be sufficient for professional liability coverage to
apply.
