AMTA Communications Get Awards

In May 2002, the Publicity Club of Chicago presented AMTA and its public relations (PR) firm, Citigate Communications, Inc., a Silver Trumpet award for its National Massage Therapy Awareness Week (NMTAW) 2001 campaign. The prestigious PR organization cited AMTA’s exceptional work marketing massage therapy and the association to consumers through the media for NMTAW 2001.

Also in May, AMTA was awarded a 2002 SNAP EXCEL Silver Award for its series of member recruitment and retention ads.  SNAP is the Society of National Association Publishers. There were 900 entries overall.

In December 2001 the national, professional newsletter PR News cited AMTA’s flexible and creative approaches to reach the public through the media during National Massage Therapy Awareness Week. PR News wrote that AMTA’s method was a model for how associations and PR professionals could overcome the media’s terrorism focus, and make its message relevant to the public.

In Fall 2001, AMTA’s Web site received a World Wide Web Health Merit Award for its extensive resources on massage therapy, and promotion of health and injury recovery through massage. This awards program, the most comprehensive of its kind, recognizes the best consumer health information programs and materials from organizations throughout the nation.
