San Diego:
Pacific College - San Diego is
located in the city's Mission Valley
District at 7445 Mission Valley Road.
Mission Valley is well known for its
restaurants, shopping centers, and
abundance of conveniently located
apartments. The city of San Diego
has widened and deepened the river
that flows through Mission Valley.
Walking and bike paths, parks, and
other recreational opportunities have
been added along the river, making
the San Diego River project a serene
place to relax between classes.
Pacific’s modern and spacious
21,000-square-foot facility is situated
in a nicely landscaped medical and
technology park. The spacious
campus offers eight classrooms,
administrative offices, an extensive
library of Oriental medicine (home to
a portion of Dr. Ted Kaptchuk’s
collection), and a comfortable
student lounge and common area.
The facility also houses a large
professional acupuncture clinic with
17 treatment rooms and an herbal
pharmacy for student training. The
College has abundant parking, easy
freeway access, and is minutes from
shopping centers, beaches, and
affordable housing.
Sunny and mild. That's not just the
weather report: It also describes San
Diego's personality. This is a place
where the people are friendly, the
insects don't bite and -- unlike
conditions in that other, larger
Southern California city -- the traffic
usually isn't too bad. To top it off, San
Diego is blessed with considerable
natural beauty. With over 70 miles of
beaches and its close proximity to
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the
San Bernardino mountains and
Mexico, it is no wonder that San
Diego's nickname is "America's
Finest City". In San Diego, it's true
that you can surf in the morning and
ski in the afternoon. If you like
sunshine, beaches, mountains, and
a small town atmosphere within a
growing metropolis, San Diego may
be the place for you!
San Diego also offers a large holistic
health community. Many natural food
stores and restaurants, holistic
health newspapers, and alternative
bookstores offer job opportunities to
students. Entrepreneurial students
also find it easy to supplement their
incomes by doing massage or
teaching classes in yoga, Tai Ji,
nutrition or whatever their specialty
may be.
New York:
Pacific College’s New York campus
is located in the city’s historical
Flatiron District at 915 Broadway, just
two blocks south of the famous
Flatiron Building. Fine restaurants,
convenient markets, trendy
boutiques, and local theatres make
up this diverse area. The
neighborhood’s Romanesque
facades have been restored,
preserving the beauty of the
buildings, the last of the
pre-skyscraper era. The area is lively
at all times during the day and
evening and even the most innocent
“out-of-towner” will feel safe and
comfortable exploring the area.
Pacific College, the city’s first
accredited school of Oriental
medicine, has convenient subway
and train access and parking nearby.
In a city where space is often at a
premium, the college’s 18,000
square feet offers seven comfortable
classrooms, administrative offices,
an extensive library of Oriental
medicine, and a comfortable student
lounge and common area. The
facility also houses a large
professional acupuncture clinic with
6 treatment rooms and an herbal
pharmacy for student training. In
order to accommodate Pacific’s
extensive curriculum, auxiliary
classrooms are also used at
surrounding institutions.
New York is one of the most exciting
cities in the world. It is often called
"the city that never sleeps." In fact,
Times Square at midnight seems
more vibrant and active than most
other cities at noon. New York has
many tourist attractions like the
Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the
United Nations headquarters, the
Empire State building and over 300
museums. It is renown for its wide
variety of entertainment including the
world famous Broadway theaters.
With over 30,000 restaurants plus
countless bars and clubs, it would
take a lifetime to exhaust all that this
magnificent city has to offer.
New York also offers a large holistic
health community. Many natural food
stores and restaurants, holistic
health newspapers, and alternative
bookstores offer job opportunities to
students. Entrepreneurial students
also find it easy to supplement their
incomes by doing massage or
teaching classes in yoga, Tai Ji,
nutrition or whatever their specialty
may be.
Chicago:
On August 24, 1999, the Illinois
Board of Higher Education approved
Pacific College as the first graduate
program in Oriental medicine in the
state. The college, located at 3646 N.
Broadway between Addison and
Waveland, is close to Wrigley Field
and convenient to public
transportation such as the city’s
Elevated Train System, known as the
"El”. Pacific’s Chicago campus
occupies the entire second floor of a
two-story building. Its bright and
colorful 15,000 square feet includes
7 classrooms, 6 administrative
offices, library with internet access,
and a comfortable student lounge
and common area. The facility also
houses a large professional
acupuncture clinic with 6 treatment
rooms and an herbal pharmacy for
student training.
The adjective seems to attach itself
to everything from pizza to hot dogs to
blues to architecture to political
machines. No matter what the
subject, Chicagoans seem to do
things with their own distinctive flair,
creating innovations that resound far
beyond the city's borders.
Defining precisely what Chicago's
style is, however, is no simple
matter. This large and diverse city is
many things at once -- a blue-collar
town that's full of high culture and
gracious living; a town of historical
importance that's in no way stuck in
the past; a classic Midwestern city
with international importance and an
international population. Ultimately,
Chicago's refusal to conform to any
single style, even one that bears its
name, is what truly defines this city.
Chicago is the birthplace of the
skyscraper and is also known for the
Prairie-style architecture of Frank
Lloyd Wright. Forty landmark districts
lie within the city limits. A jazz and
blues capital, Chicago is also home
to the world-renowned Chicago
Symphony Orchestra. And if you
haven't seen them you might not
believe it, but Chicago actually has
great beaches. The sandy shores of
Lake Michigan provide Chicagoans
with a summer playground that
stretches from the Evanston border
to South Shore. There are also public
boat-launching sites, as well as
yacht clubs and marinas. The
lakefront, preserved long ago by city
planners, is an aesthetic backdrop
few other cities can offer. Major
parks, such as Jackson Park on the
south side and Lincoln Park on the
north, parallel the shoreline. Here,
runners, cyclists and in-line skaters
make use of the extensive trails
throughout the year.
Chicago also offers a large holistic
health community. Many natural food
stores and restaurants, holistic
health newspapers, and alternative
bookstores offer job opportunities to
students. Entrepreneurial students
also find it easy to supplement their
incomes by doing massage or
teaching classes in yoga, Tai Ji,
nutrition or whatever their specialty
may be.
