Anatomy/Kinesiology: In standard Western medical language, students will learn and become comfortable with locating and palpating all of the major muscles and bones in the human body, where and how muscles attach, and principles of movement also known as muscle actions. |

Physiology: This course is comprised of the 11 major systems of the human body, such as the digestive system and the circulatory system. Students learn the proper function of each system and how all of the systems interrelate and correspond to the overall health of the individual. Emphasis is placed on the effects of Massage Therapy on each system and the physiological reasoning as to why massage techniques are used or avoided in various common situations. A correlation of western physiology to eastern Oriental Medicine is also discussed. |

Learn how to use massage therapy safely when clients have common ailments like high blood pressure, sciatica, carpal tunnel, and many more. Pregnancy and cancer rehab guidelines are also discussed. An emphasis is placed on making sure students have a strong thought process and research skills. |

Ethics 12 hours: This is a discussion class where ethical topics such as sexuality issues and HIPPA privacy laws are openly discussed and explored. Emotional release is also gone over in depth. Business Practices 12 hours: Students are guided through setting up a real and useable business plan, looking at how to achieve one's dreams and have a successful practice. |

The highlight of our program, Massage Techniques is broken down into 50 hours of chair massage, 250 hours of table massage, and 218 hours of acupressure & meridian massage which also includes theory of Oriental Medicine. There are 408 total hours of classroom time and 110 hours of clinic in our professionally run student clinic. Our students are very well trained and highly employable upon graduating. |

Our school places a very high emphasis on business skills and professionalism within the Massage Therapy career field. The supervised student clinic and events that students participate in are designed to prepare students to excel within a variet of professional health settings. Students learn to greet customers, answer the phone, observe the appointment scheduling process, make appointment reminder calls, maintain required client paperwork, assist with office duties, and get invaluable hands-on practice of their skills with direct professional feedback from the clinic supervisors. |

Our school offers a full line of advanced CEU certification courses including Thai Yoga Massage, Tui Na Acupressure Massage, Oriental Medicine, Medical QiGong, Taoist Herbology and more. We also offer weekly Massage & Wellness Workshops with CEU's. In 2008 we added a 2120 Hour Acupuncture Program. See our website or catalog for details. |

Center. This is a large and open room
with comfortable accomodations. The
Center has 3 professional treatment rooms available for use in the student massage clinic. |

Cost of Program: $10,980.00
Additional Fees: Approx. $345, to include 3 uniform tops, 3 sets of massage sheets, and required textbooks.
School Provides at no additional cost: massage tables,chairs, and oil for in-class and clinic use, and student liability insurance. |

Alaska State Student Loans are accepted for our 10-month program. We also offer an in-house payment plan with a minimum downpayment and equal monthly payments, balance due upon graduation. In Alaska many Native Corporations may assist with tuition funding. See our catalog or website for details. |
