Basic Certificate Program Information:
-Required Hours 3000 Hours
-Description The minimum requirements for registration as a R.M.T. in the province of B.C. are graduation from a 3000 hour curriculum and a passing grade of 70% or higher on the provincial Board Exams. Graduation from this institution will enable the student to write the Board Exams necessary for registration with the College of Massage Therapists of B.C.

-Description Anatomy and Physiology are taught throughout the first two years of the program. Study the structure of the human organism and the science of the functions of the living human.
Kineseology

-Description Kinesiology & Therapeutic Exercise: Year 2 The study of movement of the body and its application in areas of recreation, injury prevention and the treatment of pathologies.
Massage Theory

-Description Courses include Massage Theory and Clinic Theory.
Pathology

-Description Year 2 & 3 course. Studies the nature and cause of disease. Other courses not listed here are: 20 hours studying Nutrition and 40 hours, Medicine and Surgery.

-Description This section of the program covers self care and management, professional ethics and conduct, communication skills, business and practice management skills and jurispudence. The course also contains and additional 40 hours on Research Methods and Statistics.

Clinic, internship and community outreach components of program O.V.C.M.T. has an excellent clinic, community outreach and internship component of our program.Throughout the program you will experience In-House Clinic, Hydro Health Spa, Special Needs Massage, Sports Massage, working in intermediate care facilities and placements in R.M.T. offices or Physio's offices Province wide.

Post Graduate Training: The college offers periodic workshops for RMT's, as well as hosts other relative workshops for the Massage Therapy Association.

Institutional Accreditation(s): Our institution is Accredited by the College of Massage Therapists of B.C. We are currently registered with the Private Post Secondary Education Commission of B.C. and are undergoing the Accreditation process with them at this time.
Location of facility(ies): OVCMT is situated in Vernon which is located in the Okanagan Valley in the interior of B.C. The Okanagan Valley is a vibrant mix of forests, vineyards, orchards, lakes, rivers, ski hills, world class golf courses and beautiful scenery.
Description of facility(ies): The Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy is located downtown Vernon in a beautiful new 13,500 square foot facility. The newly renovated, spacious building is within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, shopping, fitness and recreational centres.
Tuition Information: Tuition is currently set at $7,500 Canadian per year for 3 years. Payments are made in monthly installments of $750.00 per month (10 months) September to June each year.
Financial Aid: Students are eligible for student loans provided they meet the requirements. Out of Province students have been known to be granted aid from their Province of Residence.
Application Fees(s): Application fee is $75.00 Canadian, non-refundable
Enrollment Periods: We run like a public school, from September to mid-June. We have one intake a year in September.
