Description
Study the art and science of massage therapy with this accredited, top-tier program featuring:24 college credit hours (600 clock hours). Experienced faculty who care about you and your success. Train for a career as a professional in allied health care. Full complement of community college services and support, all for an affordable cost. Curriculum includes:Relaxation and rehabilitative massage techniques, Sports, Seated Chair massage and Hydrotherapy, Movement & postural analysis, Two semester-long rotations in the school's massage teaching clinic with faculty supervision and support, Science-based anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, pathology, business & legal practices necessary for success as a massage therapist, Admission requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, High school diploma or the equivalent, Pass a criminal background check, and Complete Program Orientation. Graduates are eligible to sit for the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEx), a requirement to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of IL, and for the National Certification Board Exam, granting the credential Board Certified for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, a mark of excellence in the massage therapy profession.
