About

I’ve been practicing Massage Therapy since 1983, when I attended Heartwood institute near Garberville, CA. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and extensive additional training in myofascial bodywork. I specialize in clinical pain relief and injury rehabilitation. If you hurt, I can probably help. You don't have to hurt to heal! Since engaging resistance is counterproductive in most cases, I prefer to work within your pain tolerance. I tend toward precise, gentle bodywork, but I have a wide range of techniques available to suit different patient preferences. Occasionally the work may be challenging, but the pressure is always within your control. This is not the nice, pampering, Swedish massage you are accustomed to, and it's not the kind of deep tissue massage which leaves you bruised and sore the next day. I rarely use oil or lotion, and most treatments are performed with the patient wearing loose, comfortable clothing. I don't rub your whole body with the hope that it will help your specific problems. Rather, I address your specific complaints to relieve pain and improve mobility. I precisely apply appropriate pressure using a wide variety of techniques learned in more than 40 years of clinical practice and hundreds of hours of continuing education. I have helped people suffering from acute injuries and chronic pain of all sorts. I currently see many patients with repetitive strain and ergonomic injuries. I look forward to working with you to achieve your therapeutic goals. Most of my work these days is done in the occupational Health Clinics of a major manufacturer, but I do have limited appointments available on Thursday and Sunday.
