AMTA Joins the NCCIH Coalition for Whole Person Health

AMTA is excited to announce that, as part of our ongoing efforts to promote massage therapy as a vital component of integrative health care, we have become a stakeholder member of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) Coalition for Whole Person Health. Established in the summer of 2024, the Coalition is an independent, self-organized group of more than 70 nonprofit organizations committed to advancing awareness of NCCIH, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the transformative potential of whole person care.

The Coalition’s mission is to raise awareness about how research can inform integrative, interprofessional, patient-centered approaches to health care. This Coalition includes nonprofit organizations and key stakeholders who will serve as the voice for patients, communities, and healthcare professionals. AMTA’s acceptance into the Coalition highlights our ongoing dedication to advocacy, education, and our mission to elevate massage therapy’s role in integrative health care.

On November 1, the Coalition held its kick-off meeting in Bethesda, MD, bringing together stakeholders to establish a framework for collaboration. AMTA participated in the event, contributing to discussions about shared goals, challenges, and innovative solutions to enhance patient outcomes through evidence-based whole person care.

AMTA is proud to stand alongside fellow stakeholders to further the Coalition’s mission. As part of the NCCIH Coalition for Whole Person Health, AMTA aims to continue to help drive meaningful advancements in integrative health care.
